Indiana State Library Lunch and Learn Series: Indiana State Library Bicentennial Celebration In-Person

Limited seating available!  Bring your lunch and join us!

"Indiana State Library History" Presented by Jamie Dunn, Genealogy Supervisor, followed by Indiana Historical Bureau marker dedication and reception celebrating the Indiana State Library bicentennial

This program tells the history of the Indiana State Library from its establishment in 1825 to the present day.  Starting as a small reference collection for the Indiana Legislature, over the past 200 years the library has grown into a premier research library specializing in Indiana history, state government documents, family history, newspapers, maps, and more.

Afterwards, join us for a special marker dedication and reception with the Indiana Historical Bureau to celebrate the Indiana State Library bicentennial. The new historical marker commemorates the State Library’s growth over the last two centuries and highlights its impact on education, culture, and state government.

Where and when: This is an in-person event in the Indiana State Library History Reference Room, October 14, 2025, 12 p.m.-1 p.m.
