Building Readers Together: Bridging School and Library Literacy Support webinar
Children develop literacy in many places, and school is only one part of that journey. Public libraries create meaningful opportunities for children to build language, expand their knowledge, grow their vocabulary. This session offers an overview of literacy development and academic expectations during the elementary years. We will explore how school and library experiences can support literacy in authentic and engaging ways for children and families. Drawing on a school-based perspective, this session is designed to help librarians recognize, strengthen, and generate ideas to expand literacy connections in the outstanding work they do every day. 1 hr / 1 LEU
