Presenters: 

Paulina Jarrett, Literacy Specialist, IDOE

Paulina Jarrett serves as a Literacy Specialist in the Literacy Center at the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE). Over the past 12 years, she has had the privilege to have served in education as classroom teacher (grades K-3), Reading Specialist (grades K-5) and an Instructional Coach at a K-8 school. She has served in the public and charter school settings. Paulina has a passion for education, specifically literacy- related initiatives aimed to support students’ reading proficiency. She holds her M.S.Ed in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University, in addition to her Bachelors of Science in Education from Indiana University.

Shaiya Badgley, Literacy Specialist, IDOE

Shaiya Badgley serves as a Literacy Specialist in the Literacy Center at the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE). Over the past 10 years, she has served in a variety of educational capacities including as a primary grades classroom educator, early childhood educator, elementary programming, and as a dyslexia tutor for K-8 students. Shaiya holds her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a focus on early childhood education and reading intervention at Anderson University. She is trained in Barton Reading and Spelling System and actively completing LETRS professional development course. Currently, she is pursuing her M.S.Ed in Educational Leadership at Indiana University. She resides in Indianapolis, Indiana with her always expanding, rainbow-organized home library.
